OUR PHILOSOPHY

What we believe

Kids need to move.

We prioritize outdoor time every single day, weather permitting. After hours of structured sitting, children need to run, climb, dig, and breathe.

Play is serious work.

Through exploration and unstructured time, kids build resilience, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving — the skills no worksheet can teach.

Community is everything.

Older kids learn to lead and look out for others. Younger kids gain confidence from being around kids who are a little further along. Everyone benefits.

Emotional literacy matters.

Short daily mindfulness practices help kids regulate, reflect, and arrive home as their best selves — not their most depleted ones.

DAILY RYTHM

Predictable enough to feel safe.
Flexible enough to feel free.

Kids arrive, decompress, and ease in. Every afternoon includes outdoor play, project work, Spanish enrichment, mindfulness, snack, stories, and a closing circle before pick-up.

Mixed-age groups mean the 4-year-olds and 8-year-olds are learning from each other all afternoon long. Older kids lead. Younger kids rise.

Both groups start and end the day together at our brand new community classroom on 45th/Judah.

Ages 4–5

Outdoor exploration first — digging, climbing, cooperative play — before coming inside for homework help, creation stations, reading, or music.

Ages 6–8

Homework, collaborative projects, and games that build focus and problem-solving before heading outside for games and nature exploration.
